Nick Ruggia was born in New Jersey in 1986. Ronald Reagan was president, the New York Mets were champions, and everything was bad in the world. The turbulent times produced a mind rich with irony who constantly perceived and sought out the absurd. The son of a poet and a photographer, Nick was exposed to literature and visual art early in life. When his stepfather became a National Geographic photographer, Nick was exposed to exotic women and dangerous animals in exotic lands.
Nick received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland before he realized how much he disliked the profession. Shunning his schooling, Nick came back to the New York metro area to pursue comedy. He interned at The Onion in the fall of 2009 and started classes at The Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theater in early 2010 while performing standup at clubs all over New York.
Nick has written, shot, directed, produced, edited and acted in comedic shorts and a sitcom pilot. He also has written satire for Fanway.com and was a contributor and co-host on a radio and live WebTV show. His standup has continued to grow and mature while failing to do so mentally. Nick lists his influences as Gandhi, James Joyce, Patton Oswalt and Barack Obama. Nick and a handful of relatives believe that he will be one of the comedic voices that alter the course of history and break barriers that require breaking.

You may have seen him at the grocery store or at any comedy club delivering material in a story-telling format that leaves you captivated. You can catch him often in the Bay Area of Northern California. That’s where he's been playing the majority of his shows. That’s where the magic of his standup began. That’s where he first bombed horribly. No, he never bombs. His vision is clear and his purpose is being seen one city at a time. He's originally from Baltimore, MD but now resides in Sunny California. He left Baltimore after high school. He physically left, but there's many aspects of B-more life that still live inside of him. So much is going on in his life today. He and his Dad have been in major conflict because of some of Mike E's decisions. His marriage is complicated like facebook says. She wants to do things her way instead of doing things his way (a simple way to put it). Sometimes women don't listen. Sometimes they do. Men too. TV, movies, writing, and standup are more aspects that have to be balanced. Righteousness. Have you met Mike E Winfield? One can say that he is actually one of the most amazing personalities that you will ever get the chance to be around. His debut CD, "I Guess We'll Never Know" was named in Punchline Magazine's top 10 albums of 2009 and his hit appearance at the 2008 Just For Laughs festival in Montreal resulted in no fewer than 4 of his gags appearing in the Montreal Gazette's round up of their best jokes of the fest. Matt has appeared in and written for numerous television shows in the UK, including a charity gala featuring Jimmy Fallon, which resulted in Jimmy himself requesting Matt to open for him in a college tour to promote his Late Night hosting slot. His youthful looks disguise a veteran comic with almost a decade of experience, and a wealth of smart, funny and relatable material, making him a firm favorite with college audiences. While it's his prime-time NBC appearances that most American comedy fans will recognize him from, they are often surprised at the breadth and scope of his material, described by one reviewer as "intelligent, but with the emphasis firmly on the funny"
