Comedians

A mixture of witty “A-list material” and his ability to work off-script has earned Jim McCue the title “Boston’s King of Crowd Work!” It’s not only his height of six foot six that makes Jim stand head and shoulders above club comedians of the “stick-to-the-script” variety. Jim blends thought-provoking material and uncanny improv skills with a style that encourages audience participation. No two shows are ever the same! Jim has been featured on Comedy Central, Comcast Comedy Spotlight, NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” RedEye on Fox news, Live at Gotham AXS TV and “Roughing It” on NESN in his native New England. Jim also founded and currently runs The Boston Comedy Festival. He works in top comedy clubs in Boston, Las Vegas, New York, Dublin, Montreal and Edinburgh. Since 2000 Jim has also entertained U.S. troops at more than 100 bases around the world. An account of his experiences performing for the troops has recently been published in Embedded Comedian which Jim describes as a “field manual for comedians in a war zone.” With his unique act, Jim keeps the audience on its toes. Volleying between set material and working the crowd, Jim cracks jokes with amazing timing and whip-like precision. A unique blend that is sure to leave the audience roaring with laughter!

His overseas tours have included Afghanistan, Bosnia, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Iraq, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Kosovo, Kyrgystan, Macedonia. It's noon and in Los Angeles there is one hilarious individual and right now he's sleeping. Yes, sleeping. It's noon. The temperature is rising. The Sun is starring daggers at us and this man, Detroit-native SANDY DANTO continues his slumber. Why is he sleeping? Because he can. The difference between the reader and him is that when he wakes up, he's not popping out of a dream. He's living in it. He's living it. Sandy on stage is like watching Lebron James try out for Freshman basketball at St. Vincent- St. Mary, they both had to take bathroom breaks. Joking aside, Danto goes up everywhere. His resume is a who's who of legendary (and not so legendary) comedy clubs around the world. His actual life lends itself to the most unique stories that could be written for TV and film. He references tough times in his life that in no way, should be funny, but he pulls off the job. The reaction received from taking in his creativity isn't just a laugh or a "That's funny"; it's a thought process that activates inspiration and emotion and you'll be grateful for it. Sandy moved to Hollywood after studying at Indiana University while taking summer classes at Second City in Detroit. He immediately started working at National Lampoon upon landing in Los Angeles. He is a character actor, but is equally comfortable playing himself and did so plenty during his stint with the Lampoon. In addition to his on camera work, he writes, directs and produces comedy shorts, which is what he was hired to do for National Lampoon in the first place. He's appeared on Mad TV and Comedy Central's Mash up. He goes on tour with 90's icon Pauly Shore all over the world and built a name for himself that he carries back to LA on his back and throws down at the steps of his apartment, where he gets back to work, writing jokes. Whether or not any success, paid gigs or applause fulfill him, isn't even relevant at this point. His presence on stage as a performer and friend is relevant in itself. Anything else is bonus and whether or not you laugh, isn't. He'll be fine because, after all, he's just dreaming.
David Nguyen is a writer and comedian currently writing and comedianing in Brooklyn, New York. One half of The Bad Asians Show, the premier comedy showcase featuring Asian comics, David is a mainstay both in the local scene and comedy clubs across America. David is a refreshingly positive voice in stand up - his act has a sharp edge but never draws blood. He's like a bag of jelly beans with the licorice and popcorn beans left in – overall, very sweet, but with just enough bitter notes to keep it interesting. Preferring a gentler approach to social commentary than the foot-stomping, chest-pounding norm, his criticism is always funny and usually constructive. And with an immediately likable demeanor and a deep bag of topics from which to draw material, it is easy to see why David is one of the most dynamic young comics working today.

Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, comedian-turned-actor DeRay Davis can most recently be "scene" starring opposite Taraji P. Henson’s “Cookie Lyons” as her go-to hitman/cousin “Jermel” in seasons 1 and 2 of the Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, creative collaboration, Empire on the FOX network. After his wildly successful 1 hour Showtime Comedy Special, DeRay Davis: Power Play that aired to rave reviews, Davis continues to ascend on what can only be described as the Samuel E. Jackson Formula; a path and pattern of consistent, feature film and network television roles! After his first, single card credit, as “Spooner” in John Carpenter’s remake of The Fog (2005), it has been eleven years (and counting) of back to back, prominently featured/starring roles in both film (32+) and television (50+) staring opposite Hollywood heavy hitters. License to Wed opposite John Krasinski, Semi-Pro opposite Will Ferrell, Imagine That opposite Eddie Murphy, Life As We Know It opposite Katherine Heigl, Old Dogs opposite Robin Williams & John Travolta, 21 Jump Street (2012) opposite Channing Tatum & Johnny Depp, G.I. Joe: Retaliation opposite Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson - just to name a few. Between takes, on the afore mentioned nationally released feature films, Davis continued to star and sometimes contribute as producer/writer in a steady stream of network television movies, mini-series, variety shows and sitcoms. One of DeRay’s first credited writer/ Voice Over roles was on Kanye West earlier Albums (and you thought that was Bernie Mac, didn’t you?) Davis contributed 5+ Voice Over Character roles on Multi Seasons of The Boondocks , Adult Swim’s Black Dynamite and continued sharpening his comedic craft by starring on almost every season of Nick Cannon’s Wild n Out from its conception to current airing on MTV as well as Hip-Hop Squares, Short Circuitz and Hosting the game show Mind of a Man on GSN. This led to his currently starring as Host on MTV2’s Joking Off currently in its second season (release date TBA)! Davis transformed his torridly rough upbringing, status as a working actor and fatherhood into a live show that stays fresh and ever changing according to whatever is happening in his daily life while he continues to develop and hone his streetwise mentality smoothly and efficiently onto the comedy-club circuit. He achieved his career breakthrough at the Laffapalooza Festival in Atlanta, GA, and then scored a 3-peat by winning the Comedy Central Laugh Riots Competition and landing covetable spots in the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival as well as the Budweiser Def Comedy Jam Competition. From the Hood to Hollywood – nothing is off limits and no one is safe from DeRay’s hilarious, sidesplitting anecdotes. He continues to sell out venues both domestically and internationally. His highly anticipated 1st ever Netflix special “DeRay Davis: How to Act Black” smashed the cultural landscape on November 14, 2017 and was so popular it shut down the Netflix server TWICE! Davis is continuing to ascend. He can currently be seen on the FX hit, Snowfall.
